Understanding The Trench Box System

The excavation of trenches are an essential component of many constructions and engineering sites. They are employed to lay telephone lines, pipes or any other type of tubular structure which needs to be installed underground, such as oil rigs, for instance. Due to the high water content of these soils, trench can be a laborious task. This is because it’s challenging to remove dirt and other debris from nearby objects, but also to guarantee that you are safe from severe injuries if you expose your skin.

Care: Caring to the trench

3. You should keep heavy equipment and other tools at least 3 feet from the trench edge.


A trench box installation will likely be more difficult than extracting it because the ground surrounding it moves. Chain slings can be used to extract the soil, however, there are three methods for lifting it. The third option is to use an overhead crane.

1. Straight Pull Straight Pull fundamental of all extraction methods. Simply attach your sling at two points before lifting it out.

2. Half Pull Half Pull one side of the trench box, and then lift it as far as you are able before moving on. It is possible to remove dirt and debris from the trench box and not cause any harm.

3. Single Pull One Chain sling to the lifting/extraction point to lift the trench box. Then, raise each panel individually by pulling one. When it’s time for removal but you’ll need to use your favorite pull.
